In MOBIL, a modular designed assistive device for the support of walking, carrying and remembrance will be developed. It will provide a stimulating human machine interface, mainly oriented on voice input and speech output, but also alternatives, which take into consideration the requirements of elderly users, as low vision, hard of hearing, reduced fine movement, etc. The system will consist of a low cost but well designed mobile base platform, a hight adjustment table, a mechanism for take up of trays and a bedside table function, a module for active walking assistance, and a module for remembrance and stimulation. Particular consideration will be given to continuous and appropriate user involvement, adequate functionality, aesthetical design, modularity, and marketing aspects.
